Fantom Smart Medicine Partnership Announcement💊📢
We're proud to announce our collaboration with four leading pharmaceutical companies, as part of the Smart Medicine program we've launched with the Ministry of Public Health in Afghanistan.
See our announcement article here.
Forbes' coverage of the story.
Coindesk's coverage of the story.
What’s being tracked?
As part of the initial pilot we’ll track & authenticate:
💊 4 pharmaceutical products
📦 80,000 units
With scope to expand the project through the rest of 2020 and beyond.
Why is it important?
Counterfeit medicines are commonplace in Afghanistan, causing:
🤒 Increased health risk for patients
💸 Loss of revenues for legitimate manufacturers and national tax authority.
Fantom minimizes opportunities for criminals to manipulate the supply chain.
Who’s involved?
Afghanistan Ministry of Health: The government ministry that oversees public health in Afghanistan.
Royal Star Ltd: One of Afghanistan’s biggest distributors of pharmaceutical products, with production links in India and the UK.
Nabros Pharma Pvt Ltd: A pharmaceutical manufacturer accredited by several international regulatory bodies, including the World Health Organization, exporting to over 35 countries.
Bliss GVS: A pharmaceutical company traded on the National Stock Exchange of India with annual revenues of USD$120m, exporting to over 60 countries.
INSAF Pharmaceuticals: A domestic manufacturer of pharmaceuticals, using Royal Star to distribute to pharmacies in Afghanistan.
